Disclaimer: Since this is a made-up story with a completely original cast of random guys, I am going to write what I want to no matter how incredibly unlikely it is. There is no fun in pretending if someone limits your imagination, right? Right. So go with this.
Llywelyn was only seventeen when he met Siôr for the first time. At that point, they already knew they were to be married. Families like theirs arranged everyone's marriages and anyone who couldn't be married for good breeding purposes was married for good publicity purposes. Llywelyn is pretty sure however that he and Siôr are the first ones this has ever happened to- at least within any of the families he knows considering they're the only gay people he knows in their circles.
They'd met four times by the time they were married. Enough to know they were almost exactly a year apart in age, that Siôr liked animals quite a bit ("Something I've always wanted to do? See a burrowing owl. I know that's pathetic, but they use the old burrows of foxes and badgers and they live there year after year. It's fascinating.") and that Llywelyn thought a beach was meant to admired and enjoyed, but not the ocean part ("People aren't meant to be in the ocean. Sharks are. There's a reason they're there and not us.").
For over 100 years now, the Saise family has made quality dress shoes for people throughout the world and much of the family works for the now renowned company. Llywelyn is part of their marketing department. While he's good at the job, he has many other interests he'd like to pursue as well. Not to mention, he knows it's a joke between people behind his back about how cliche it is for a gay man to work at a dress shoe company.
Siôr, on the other hand, comes from a family with less money and yet is more spoiled. His family breeds welsh ponies and has at least eighty thoroughbred ponies on the Pascoe estate at any given time. Siôr figures he knew everything there was to know about ponies before he entered primary school. He's also figures that growing up with so many four-legged creatures around is what gave him his love for nature. Since moving in with Llywelyn in the city, he must admit that he misses the relaxed freeing feel of riding the most. On a positive note, Siôr doesn't work and is allowed to visit his home whenever he wants.
While Llywelyn and Siôr may not be in love, they are good friends. They have few arguments and tend to enjoy each other's company. As far as arranged marriages go, they both know it could be worse and tend to make the best of what they have.
