I love Leo and also LeonI like the meaning and see Leo as a classy and classic name. Leon is gorgous imo, it sounds more French. Why would you not dare to use it?"You sought a flower and found a fruit. You sought a spring and found a sea. You sought a woman and found a soul. You are disappointed."

I love the name Leo. And I love it by its self, I hate the formal versions.Kristen~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Leo IS a formal nameIf you click on the name Leo, you find that it has been used by popes and emperors and by the famous author Leo Tolstoy."You sought a flower and found a fruit. You sought a spring and found a sea. You sought a woman and found a soul. You are disappointed."

Why would you be scared to use it? If you're worried that it might be considered too "elderly" or "weird", this will not be the case. Leo has tripled in use in the USA since 1990 and is now among the top 250 names for boys. It is also now one of the top names in France. Children of the generation being born now will find it to be completely normal for someone their age.

I like Leo, I'm with you though, don't know if I could actually use it. Mainly because Leo sounds like a nn, and I don't like any of the full names that go with it. But it is a very nice name.

I really like Leo, either as a stand-alone name or a NN for Leopold (and we can all blame South Park for getting me hooked on *that* name...)

Leo is nice as full name, but I've always preferred it as a nn for Leopold. Either way, it sounds handsome and strong. Leona for a girl is also one of my favorites.
