The word names strike again. I'm really stuck on Raining and Yonder. The reason I like Yonder is simple; it reminds me of
Carole King's "Way Over Yonder," and anything that makes me think of
Carole King is surely a good thing. Yonder would be for a boy.
I'm having a harder time figuring out why I'm so fond of Raining. I think it's because I get the same silvery picture in my mind as I do when I hear Rain--but without the trendiness and popularity that goes along with it. I'd use Raining as a middle name for either sex. Lalena Raining is the combo I've mostly had on my mind lately.
So what do you think of them? Absolutely hideous, possibly workable on the right kids, or totally passable? Do any combos immediately spring to mind?
(And, since I'm in a cheerfully M*A*S*H mood, how do you feel on the topic of Hawkeye for a boy? Middle name only, though he'd probably be called by it a bit. I tend to call people by their middle names without reason, heh.)

"Phineas. That's an interesting name."
"Yeah. It's Latin for 'kick me'."
