Very Southern, slightly white trash, and it reminds me me of the toilet paper Charmin.

I think it still is in the US. I didn't read Iac's post before I made mine. I also thought of toilet paper independently, so it might be a common connotation.

Yeah, it's still Charmin in the US. That would be my first association, too.

Yeah, it's pretty common; I used to hear it all the time when Charmian was on my name list. Charmin's now Cushelle, or something like that.
