I like it a lot. To me, it's a big improvement over Belinda or just plain Linda. Very pretty.
I've known two Melindas and neither went by Melinda. One was my stepmother, and she went by a completely unrelated nickname that was based upon her maiden surname. She emphatically did not want to be called Melinda. The other was a friend of mine who went by Mindy. I remember her stating once that she hated her full name, Melinda. I really can't understand the attitude of either one, as in my opinion Melinda is so much better than my stepmother's nickname and Mindy.
