[Opinions] Re: Luca
in reply to a message by Julia
I love Luca, though I think I prefer Luka. I go back and forth on this, but Luka tends to look like the more boyish spelling to me--and it's one of the few names I love the look of the K in.In any case, it's certainly masculine enough for a boy and doesn't need a nickname. If you went with one, though, I'd go with Luc/Luk rather than Luke; the E on the end makes it look like a whole other name (which, of course, it is) rather than a nickname. If I had a kid named Luka, I'd probably call him Lucky, myself--but I don't expect that to be a popular option around here.Let's see...Luca/Luka middle names. Luka Joseph
Luka Theodore
Luka Desmond
Luka Vincent
Luka Victor
Luka Niles
Luka William
Luka Wilde
Luka Francis
Luka John
Luka Martin
Luka Willard
Luka HenryI have a hard time coming up with very Julia-ish names, ha. I tried to stick with the straight and narrow of traditional boy names, but it's simply not something I can do. ;)Array

"Phineas. That's an interesting name."
"Yeah. It's Latin for 'kick me'."

Thank you! It's fine; I have a lot of problems coming up with Array-ish names, so we're even. You did quite well! I do like Luka too, but it looks tryndee and he'd always be saying "No, it's Luka with a K, not a C".I like:
Luca Joseph
Luca Theodore (I've always hated Theodore, but this is lovely)
Luca William
Luca John
Luca Henry
