A bit too tragic for me, but with all the Tristans running around, it would certainly be amusing to have an
Isolde who actually had a proper life with her
Tristan. ;) I honestly don't really like the name, even though I know I
should. It's going to be way too precious after the movie comes out, and it's such a pain to pronunce; I always say IH-zohl-dee, but in the film it's ih-ZOLD, and on this website it's everything else.
As a completely unnecessary aside, I always thought it'd be interesting if someone reworked the legend of
Tristan and
Isolde for YA audiences as a romance between two teenage girls, since there are plenty of female Trystyns running around. But then, I'm the same person who thinks that
Romeo and Julius or
Romy and Juliet would be equally genius ideas.
