[Facts] Help on the Pro. On Alexandre ?
My friend is adding this to his list of names, the trouble is we don't quite get how to pronounce the end bit of the name. So can anyone explain it? xXxXx

It depends of the language you are considering. In French it's [ah-leh-KSAWN*-drə] and in Portuguese it's [uh-lə-SHUN*-drə]. In both cases the "n" is nasal and the final "e" is mute (I represented it with "ə", but the exact sound doesn't exist in English). It would be similar to the end of words like Alice or fluke.

thank you! the French is what we were looking for... My friend likes Alex Evans, and then hearing his full name and the fact he was French, he was Alexandre is an awesome! name... I was thinking it was silent, but i just wasn't sure. thanks again :)
