Rank: Prince and Princess, brother and sister-in-law to the KingJoseph and Maria Elisabeth have been growing closer and closer the longer they have been married, and especially following the birth of little Prince Arthur. Joseph was fiercely proud of his son with his bright hair, Kaarmann blue eyes, and robust cry. He felt jilted when everyone overlooked his stalwart little son for Crown Prince August and his sister's French princess. His sympathy for Adleheid had been growing as his wife proved to be a woman Joseph could love, but when her daughter's birth eclipsed that of his son, he cooled somewhat to his distant younger sister. To escape the frustration he felt at Court, Joseph and Maria Elisabeth have begun to visit Princess Magdalena rather regularly. Joseph enjoys the ride to Magdalena's estate and the two siblings have built up an easy rapport, their relationship fortified by their happy marriages. Maria Elisabeth, though popular among the ladies at Court, is happy to spend time with her sister-in-law and old friend, and feels that she is a truer friend than perhaps some of the other nobility. Prince Arthur and Duchess Katarina play nicely together on these trips, and Joseph and Taddeo go hunting together. The arrival of the English ladies at Court at first seemed like a good thing to Prince Joseph and Princess Maria Elisabeth. Maria Elisabeth showed all of them good hospitality and assisted the Dowager Queen in making the marriage connections for them. However, Lady Mary quickly proved herself ambitious and of poor judgment. She flirted shamelessly with Prince Joseph -- even in front of his pregnant wife! -- but tired of him when he showed no signs of returning her ardor. The couple watched as she flirted around the Court and their disdain of her grew. As soon the news spread about Lady Mary's unfortunate condition, a little bubbling of rumors sprang up about Prince Joseph having fathered her child. Such rumors were staunched swiftly by all three royal siblings, and fortified by Magdalena's discovery of Count Adelmar's infidelity and the stable boy story. In the midst of the preparations for the English ladies, Maria Elisabeth discovered she was pregnant again! This did not come as a surprise for the couple, as they have found sharing a bed to be rather enjoyable and had been wanting to add to their little family. Princess Elisabeth was born healthy and fair-haired like her mother. They have not quite decided whether to call her Elisabeth or Amalie yet. Joseph was happy to have his beautiful daughter, but not as happy at the fanfare for the second son of the King, whose celebrations drowned out the little princess'. Joseph is frustrated that Walter seems to steal his thunder with sons and scarcely acknowledged the births of his younger brother's children. Maria Elisabeth tries to comfort Joseph with the fact that he is much happier in his marriage than King Walter (and surely his children are much prettier, are they not? (: ) and in that the prince rests content.Prince Joseph:
