[Facts] A slight error in the bearers of the name James
Greetings all,
I am a new user here, and I am finding this site very easy to use, informative, and rather interesting! When looking my name up, I noticed a slight error in the famous bearers section.
James Watt is of course a famous bearer of the name James. That is obvious. But his famous historical achievement is incorrect - he is described as 'inventor of the steam engine' which is not quite correct - he was involved in the development of the steam engine after its development and played a key part in getting it to where it is now - but he was not the father of the steam engine. The first patented steam engine was registered in 1698 by one Thomas Savery. Then came Thomas Newcommen, and then it was Richard Trevithick in the same times as James Watt.Sorry to nit pick like this, but it is an inaccuracy.Cheers,
James Littlewood
