Like the others said, "fey" is a slang term for effeminately gay, and that's what I immediately thought of.
I prefer Fay by a landslide.
I'm not a big fan of it. It sounds like the name of a middle-aged hairstylist who wears too much makeup to me. I know that's a weird description :p
