Kay and Claude have settled into a happily married life in the past four or so years. They are extremely happy together, even though Anne has been sick for quite some time. Kay hopes that the birth of a little girl, a sister for Anne, will help her sickly self. Kay and Claude named their new daughter Mary Elizabeth after Claude's English grandmother and Her Royal Highness Dowager Queen Elizabeth of Bial.
