Wdyt of Alshan as a male name?
It's the name of a character in one of my favorite books. I'm not entirely sure how to pronounce it, nor do I know what it means, but it's growing on me lately.

It reminds me of Aslan. I'd pronounce it al-shan just like it looks.

I'm afraid that at first I saw "Ashlan" and thought it was a misspelling of "Aslan". I suspect a lot of people would get the 'sh' and 'l' around the wrong way on their first attempt.
The sound isn't bad but it's nms.

I thought that it looked like Ashlan too.
