[Facts] Cincinnatus - Curly Haired
I was in Latin class one day when we got to a story involving the name "Cincinnatus" (pronounced "kink-ih-natus," as far as I know), and we discussed that the meaning of the name is "curly-haired."
I noticed that it seems like it may be related to the word "kink" or "kinky" (used when referring to hair), but I can't find anything to support the idea.
Has anybody else noticed/wondered this? Is it possible that the name and the word are related?

You could also aim your research in the direction of the city of Cincinnati, as I believe it was named after Cincinnatus. The city is pronounced sin-sih-na-tee, however (with the a short as in "asp")
According to this site, http://www.etymonline.com/index.php?term=kink, they are not related.
Thank you very much. That site is very helpful.
