[Opinions] Abiah
This is a unisex name that appears in the Bible. What do you think of Abiah? Would you prefer it on a boy or a girl?I like it for a girl. It sounds like a nice alternative to Abigail, and you can still call her Abby. I don't really care for it on a boy, though.

Strangely, I don't actually like this name, though I like the sounds "ab" and "iah". I don't like them much together. Abiah doesn't seem much like a name, more like a sound. I think it'd work best on a girl too.

I can see the unisex-ness since -iah ending is often on males in the Bible (Zebediah, Obadiah, Zecheriah, etc). But today, it feels very feminine to me. I'd consider spelling it Abia. But either way it sounds very pretty. Abby would make a great nickname, but she wouldn't be "stuck" with the overpopular Abigail. And since I strongly dislike the Gail part of Abigail, this is way nicer! Not that you asked, but I instantly thought of Abia Josephine and Abia Marguerite as combos.

It's one of the less remarkable Biblical names, IMO, like something you'd skim over in one of those long genealogical lists and then forget about. I think it seems more evenly unisex than either masculine or feminine. I prefer Abilene as an alternative to Abigail.

I like the Hebrew version Aviyah much, much better. Abiah does nothing for me.
