My poor, poor Cyril.
The only example I can think of are the girls named Ciara but pronounce it like Sierra.
Oh, my husband has several students with names pronounced not the way they're spelled. I just asked him for examples:
Mercades, pronounced like Mercedes
Quicanetta, pronounced kwin-sa-net-a. Apparently there's an invisible n.
Mai'lyjha, pronounced like Malaysia
