I have come across some "interesting" names lately. :b There was recently a set of twins born at the hospital where I work and their names (even though I've definitely seen worse) made me and the other nurses roll our eyes:
(b/g twins)
Alex James &
Alexandria (brothers –
Travis &
Derrick)
Yes, they are
Alex and
Alexandria. They are currently calling
Alexandria "
Lexie" which makes it slightly more tolerable, but still...! That and the father constantly refers to the little girl as "
Alexandra" when the mother (and birth certificate) have made it clear that her names is
Alexandria. *smacks forehead*
Along similar lines, a lady at work said she has cousins that are twins, now 50 years old (female/male), named
Emily and
Emory. SHEESH!
One more story...
I was talking with a friend whose brother is dating a girl named Desa (rhymes with
Lisa). That was odd enough, but then I find out she has a little girl named Freedom. Well, her name is Jeanetta (jah-NET-tah...guessing on spelling)
Elizabeth Freedom Last-Name. The fn is after her grandmother, and the grandmother insists on calling the little girl, who's 2,
Netta. How confusing! The little girl now has a baby brother named
Skyler. :-
