Too not-so-great associations: Fergie and fungus.
Sorry, not a fan.

Not a fan of it at all.:)

Agreed, sounds like "fungus"

to be completely honest I think it's seriously ugly.

I used to think it sounded really nerdy because it made me think of Ferguson from Clarissa Explains it All. But ever since reading a book with a more dashing, adventurous Fergus, I like it more. Not entirely sure if I'd say I like it, but it's at least more appealing.

I like it and had completely forgotten about it :( so thanks for reminding me lol I also like Fersen for historical reasons :)

Once I knew an Irish family whose baby had a toy gorilla known as Furry Fergus.I've always wanted three Scottish terriers: Angus, Fergus and Magnus. Boundless energy, determination and intelligence on a windy hillside.I like it very much!

I like it, not sure if I like it enough to use it though, but it's not something you hear everyday. Maybe it might warm to me a bit more if I hear it more.

Yes!!!I think it's alright. Actually, it's great.

I like it - I see it as quite mature and manly and a bit tweedy but it could work on a kid. My brother's name is Fergal which I prefer but Fergus reminds me of Fergal so it's all good:) I dislike the nn Fergie though.

Love it!I had brothers named Fergus and Finlay and Fergus just fit him so well! I also love Fergal. I probably prefer Fergus because I love the "gus" bit (Gus was my dads nickname in high school).

2 F's :-)
I like Finlay too
thx for an input

3 actually!Their names were like Fergus and Finlay Flanagan! I asked them jokingly if they had middles names of F and they didn't see the joke...
I secretly named them:
Fergus Fabian Flanagan and Finlay Felix Flanagan hehe...

I adore Fergus. And my dh loves it too. Pity we aren't having any children. I'm into Irish names so this one doesn't scare me. But it will not go over well with most of my fellow U.S. types. :-/

Too close to Ferguson, the obnoxious brother from "Clarissa Explains It All." I don't like it.

That's what I think of too! It just puts images of some annoying, weasely, running nosed kid in my mind. The name just seems gross to me

DittoI was about to post saying "There's soemthing about Fergus I don't like, but I can't put my finger on it." Now I can!

It was a show for kids when I was growing up (early 90's):http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0101065/It starred Melissa Joan Hart before she was Sabrina. :)
