[Opinions] Re: Khatirya
I've never seen or heard of Khatirya before. I would pronounced it, "khah-TEER-yuh," but that's only a guess. it has a pretty sound, but I would need to know more about its history and meaning before I could render a full opinion.I did a google search. I didn't come up with any Khatiryas, always a troubling sign. But I did get a lot of responses for Kshatriya, the Hindu caste. It's not a name for a person of course. I have better luck with Khatriya. That does appear to be a Sanskrit / Hindi name. But I can't tell if it's for a man or a woman, and I'm not sure if it's a personal name or a surname. I would guess it's pronounced either, "KHAH-tree-yuh," or "khah-TREE-yuh." Could the name you saw be Khatriya instead of Khatirya? Then again, if she spoke Russian she's not likely to be a Hindi, unless she was from a former Soviet republic like Kazakhistan. I could see the name Khatriya making its way there.
