It's between Julia and Olivia for me...... and despite popularity, I think I'll go with Olivia.

Margaret, hands down! Julia and Olivia are overused, and I used to know a Gwyneth whose parents used a Gwynnath variant that burned my eyes; plus, mother and daughter couldn't pronounce the -th sound so it came out Gwynnaff. Not good.Margaret is lovely and versatile and actually a family name going back to the 1840s.

Margaret, then GwynethMargaret! Traditional and very pretty, in my opinion. The name brings to mind an intelligent, intuitive girl. It has a decent selection of nicknames as well. After that I would choose Olivia, then Gwyneth. I'm not a fan of Julia.

Julia. It's one of my favorite names anyways.

Definitely Margaret (nn Meg or Daisy)

I would probably go with Julia. I think it's beautiful. I also like Olivia.Gwyneth has never done much for me. I don't really care for the sound of it, but I may warm up to it one day.Margaret is my least favorite. I find it dull and frumpy to be honest.

I have an Olivia already (it's her mn anyway), so I would go with Julia, which I also love. :)

Julia!Julia

Olivia is the only nice name here. And if it wasn't so popular I would definitely consider using it.
All the others are dated (especially Margaret), except Gwyneth which is soso

Julia.Olivia would be second choice.

MargaretTough choice between Julia and Margaret. I think I like them both equally, but Margaret is seeming a little more elegant right now.

Considering my family and how I want the name I would choose for a daughter to fit in, I would choose Julia, but I actually prefer Gwyneth, or Margaret but only with the nn Maggie.

1. Julia
2. Olivia
3. Gwyneth (I'd much prefer Gwen)
4. Margaret (although, if she were to be called Maggie, I'd list this as third)

Olivia.

They are all good, but, probably, Julia.Second choice, Gwyneth. Margaret is a fine name, but tends to be pronounced "Margret", leaving out the "a".

Margaret, of course!Since we've been planning on using it for our first daughter for years.

Definitely not Gwyneth, but I can't choose between the other three. Probably Margaret.

MargaretJulia comes in 2nd, Gwyneth in 3rd, and Olivia in 4th.

Margaret because then I could use Maggie as a nickname.
Julia would be my second choice because it is so timeless/ageless and elegant.

Olivia! But Gwyneth is a close second. I don't think I would ever choose Margaret. It makes me think of someone chubby with red cheeks. Which is funny because I know a Margaret and she's nothing like that.

Julia for meI've always thought it such a shiningly purple name. And I've never known a single one, if you can believe that! Also I probably wouldn't choose it myself, but Julia Margaret strikes me as a delightfully rich combo.

MargaretI hope to use it someday. Margaret is a timeless classic.

Gwyneth, followed closely by Julia. I love both of these. I think Margaret and Olivia are very nice names, but they don't tug at my heart strings.

I've been seriously crushing on Margaret lately. It's my SIL's name so I'd have an easy time getting dh to use it. I love the down to earth, no-nonsense feel of Margaret. It's very enduring.Funny that you have Julia right next to Margaret in the title. I've been playing with Julia as a mn for Margaret. Or, if I'm feeling really ambitious, Margaret Julia Siobhan. My second choice would be Gwyneth. I love the Celtic flair of it. Actually, Gwyneth Olivia makes a nice combo too -- although someone on these boards has Gwyneth Eleanor as a combo which I find hard to top.
