[Opinions] Kerys
I was reading a story and came across this and really liked it. Does anyone else?
By the way, it's not some trendy version of Carys, though it come from the same roots(it means 'the beloved place'), it's the name of a city in a Breton legend I like (The Destruction of Ker-Ys).

I'm familiar with the legend, and I'm fairly sure Ker Ys means 'the fortress below'; not an expert on Breton, but in Welsh 'caer' means fortress and 'is' means below, and the languages are extremely similar.
It's a cool source for a name! but it does look like an alt. spelling of Cerys.

I got the meaning from the story, so the author definitely could have been wrong. Thanks!

I love the name Carys so much! I would spell it like that as that's the most popular way, and I feel it looks the best.
But any way to use this name is great cause it's so beautiful

It's OK.
Not my favorite but I like it.
BTW what story? As a more-than-avid reader I have to know :) :)

A version can be read here- http://www.celtnet.org.uk/legends/ker-ys.html. My favorite version is by Peter Tremayne, and has a different plot in which she seduces and takes revenge on a king of Bro Erech who wronged her family, and his ghost tricks her into destroying the city. You can find that one in The Giant Book of Myths and Legends (1995), which is a fantastic book.
I prefer Karis but I might be a little biased ;)
