A friend from high school's name was Josidell, but I don't know how to spell it. I think she said Josi was short for Josephine, but I can't remember. Is there a similar name I'm not thinking of?

Google lists people called Josadel and Josadelle - maybe it was one of those?
I like the look and the sound of Josadel.

Perhaps her full name (first and last) is Josephine Dell and she goes by Josie? Joselle and Josette are other names that Josie can be short for, but I'm guessing it's Josephine Dell.

If Josi was short for Josephine, could it have been something like Josephine Adele, nn Josiedell? Or is Dell her surname?

If it helps, I've never heard of Josiedell as a name before. It sounds like a nn peculiar to her.

No, it wasn't her last name. Probably a nn just for her. :)
