[Opinions] Re: Persephone?
I think the six months of gloom thing is a beautiful story ... it's about how the world really is. There's a winter for every summer; you can't have all that you want and none that you don't, & all that stuff - Persephone is more beautiful, imo, because it encapsulates a natural truth, not just a "happy-pretty" idea.Persie, I'm sure, would be the first nn I'd make up. Sephie works too, but it's a little more 'precious' seeming - how it'd work depends on the person.I'd be tempted to put June with it. Would that be corny?- chazda

It's funny you suggested June. I almost suggested Juno, the goddess the month is named after. Persephone Juno is a fun combination, but perhaps it's a little "too" mythological. Using June is a nice way to normalize the name and "anchor" it a little. I wouldn't think it was corny to use June. Temporal or natural names make a lot of sense, to me.

June's not really my style. I like a lot of the names people are suggesting (thanks, guys!) but I get this weird idea that since it's so Greek that other names look weird with it.I don't think that June is corny, and it does sound nice with it, but I wouldn't use June at all, I don't think. Sorry.
