[Facts] French -than names
As you probably already know if you are capable of answering my question, Nathan is currenty the fourth most popular name in Quebec and in France`s top 10 as well. My question is whether in those French-speaking areas it is pronounced the English way, or what I assume to be French pronounciation of na-TAW (ish). The reason I doubt the pronounciation is the fact that Nathan appears to be an English import and the awkwardness of the French pronounciation. The above also applies to Ethan, which is less popular but still in the top 100. So does anyone living in a French area know how parents pronounce their little Nathan`s and Ethan`s names?

you're on the right track with trying to figure out where to place the stress of the accent. however, it's more like a "nay-TAW," not "na-TAW." i tried to find a good example of how someone would saw the name nathan in french, and i somehow stumbled upon this episode of one tree hill in french on youtube.
