[Opinions] Huh. I thought you hated this name.
Anyway, I think its kinda of cool. KIR-stin is how I'd pronunce it. I had a great-great grandmother named it. (She was the "witch," actually) Kirstie is okay as a nickname, though it has been forever ruined by the ever-obnoxious, smackable Kirsty Alley.

I've gone hot-cold with this name, though I don't remember hating it. Mostly because it was so overused here till recently. (In the form Kirsten, but still.) Now I rarely hear it, so it's growing on me again. Thanks for the feedback :-)_____________________________________________________________________Elinor"Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so."

Not a problem. Is Kirstie Alley at all popular in Scotland? If so, I wouldn't use it. The woman is just so obnoxious in so many different ways. She's doing Jenny Craig commercials currently, and I swear I want to throw something whenever they're on.

I don't think she's as popular, but she's certainly famous because of Cheers / Frasier. But because Kirsty is such a common name here, I don't know if people think of her especially.I saw some diet advert she did when I was in the US, and I agree - she is so irritating! Lol._____________________________________________________________________Elinor"Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so."
