[Opinions] Belinda
I didn't used to like this name, but I'm beginning to fall in love with it. WDYT?

It's OK but I can't imagine it on a small child. The only Belinda I know is my cousins' cousin and she's about 25. Her nickname is Bea, which I like.
You didn't like Belinda? With her white house and her red wagon and her pet dragon? Gosh. It's like rejecting Isabel!
It reminds me of a very pretty, pleasant person who was also a leading sportswoman with national colours in squash and surfing! Unfortunately, it also reminds me of the late mother of someone I used to know, who was treated, post-mortem, as every kind of saint and angel combined. And, considering the major oddities of her husband and all three kids, I was sceptical ...
As a name, it puzzles me a bit, because I do like it but I can't stand Melinda and I can't figure out why.

I know an adorable toddler with the name!
And that makes me like it a whole lot! She is Belinda nn Billie which I think is one of the most adorable unconventional full name/nickname pairs I've ever heard IRL.

yeah wow that is most excellent
You know, Belinda has been growing on me lately, too. I think it's rather whimsical. Part of me prefers Melinda, basically because I think Mindy and Minnie are rad nicknames, but Belinda is very appealing. I think I'd probably use Lindy as a nn in that case.
I like it, and wouldn't mind seeing it more often. It's playful and sophisticated all at once plus it has a retro vibe.
Meh, I prefer Melinda. I think it's softer and less gaudy than Belinda.
Not my style, but it's appealing in a quirky sort of way.
I have a relative with this name, though she goes by Linda which I don't understand at all!

I don't specifically like it, but I think the images I get from it are fun and pleasant. At first it makes me think of some middle-aged lady stuck in the 80s, who wears brightly colored costume jewellry and spandex tights and has hideous tacky knick-knacks all over her house and yard. But it also makes me think of a cultural anthropology professor I had, who was very soft-spoken and a bit hippie-looking. She spelled her name Bilinda, though.
It's not my favorite. It seems kind of old-fashioned and dated to me; sorry.
I love it. It's magically quirky in a sly, ordinary way.
You're the one who loves Belinda, right? I remember you posting about it a little while ago and I told you all about my cultural/linguistic anthropology professor, Bilinda. And then we discussed kitchy costume jewellry pink spandex tights ladies.
I'll have to look up that thread to hear what you guys talked about :)
Yes I am!
And yes we did! Those were good times.
