I think it sounds too childish and thus should be nickname material only.

I actually do really like the name, in it's original Hawaiian form of "Maile", not as a shortening for "Smiley"! It's not usable at all now though, thanks to Miley Cyrus.

It sounds too cutesy to my ears and I dislike the fact that it doesn't exactly have a strong etymological history.

I like the name, and would use it despite the associations. Though I do prefer Kylie.

It does have a nice sound if you take away all of the other reasons I dislike it...

Not a plesant name, but it's not horrible either. It is kinda of bouncy and exciting until you read a tabloid.

To be honest, I think that it is okay sounding. I would never use it in a million years though.

The sound is quite sweet but I would much prefer Mila or Milly. I really think the Miley Cyrus thing is too much of an association and totally ruins the name for me.

I don't care for it to be honest. It seems too cutesy to me, and I don't think it ages well. It's better suited as a nickname for a child than a full name.
