Why, hello there!
I've finally got the time to start this, so I thought, why not? So, here we go. Sorry for the awkward wording, I'm slightly multitasking so it's a bit tricky, haha.
In terms of names, there'll be a range of namebanks, links, rules etc from round to round, and while a couple of sentences (or more, if you feel so inclined) about how your family's doing and all that would be just spiffy, you genuinely don't have to write anything if you don't want to. With each round I'll include a little bit of a plot/world update (because it is a sci-fi congrats after all. It might be something relating to the bigger picture and setting in general, or it might be something impacting your family more specifically) and you can use that as inspiration and either way just go wild with whatever you want to make up.
As is, we start in the year 2811 on a futuristic semi-dystopian Earth. Since space travel has advanced leaps and bounds, technology is far advanced, and many people work in sectors somehow linked to space exploration, there's no guarantee that we'll stay there for the whole duration of the game, but let's wait and see. Humanity learnt its lesson about treating the planet and other beings with respect early in the 21st century, or so they thought they did, but over the subsequent 800 years, they managed to forget it once more. Earth is pretty ravaged but they say it's getting better, and it's not quite entirely unable to support life. Those who can afford the means want to get off the planet, but as is, the only real way is to sign up for a raffle in hopes that you'll get picked to help colonise one of the new terraformed worlds they're all talking about, or, if you have the money, sign up for a mansion on one of the luxury worlds on offer - but even if you can afford that, you're not going anywhere fast for a few more years. The state has clamped down hard on the remaining population of Earth - especially after some attempted revolutions by colonists on distant terraformed worlds who got the silly idea that they didn't want the Earth's governments presiding over them - and so by and large they control what you do, what you watch, what you eat, what you buy and what you do as a job, through one way or another. After the spiralling population total caused such chaos in the past, they also control the birth rate - think... baby quotas, permits to get knocked up and start a family. It's okay - your family's all legit, but there are rumours as to what happens to people who aren't, and they aren't nice rumours. Culturewise, think those usual dystopian type gigs - think a little bit of Fahrenheit 451. The state doesn't like people who make demands and questions, so likes them complacent and quiet. Books, museums, galleries, the old remnants of culture and academia, aren't illegal but are all but - it doesn't mean they don't exist and there isn't still a populace who remains devoted to them, but it's seen as suspicious and many people like the endless television, films, music, vapid celebrities, fast cars, flashing lights, neon and smoke and mirrors which the government distracts them with. Some don't.
So... there you go. There's the basic background and the rest is up to you. Sign up using the attached form, and I'll see you for round 1! :)

About: Arai and Atali are a young couple starting their lives together in this dystopian world. Like the rest of their fellow man-kind, Arai and Atali are hoping for a winning raffle number. Until then, they are living in a rundown apartment building probably built in the early twenty-forth century. Arai has quick wit that has lead to him working with the sector police keeping people confined to the areas they are meant to be in. Its a nasty job, not to his liking, but he knows what good power can bring and he would do anything to get out into space, even if he became a part of the corruption the world was seeing.

Orion and Madeleine are a newly married couple living on Earth. Both are doctors and are each in the progress of completing their residencies, having completed their degrees a few years ago. Post-secondary education has changed in the past centuries, and medical studies now finish at about 25 years old. Madeleine is just beginning a residency focused on space and colony healthcare, possibly in preparation to move off-world or to do a rotation on a space vehicle. Orion is in residency for surgical services and will be finished in about two years. Orion is an only child, but Madeleine comes from a fairly large family and there is some suspicion that Madeleine's parents were already expecting Madeleine when they received permission from the government to add to their family. Either way, she has official paperwork now and is a valuable member of Society, so no one looks too closely at her birth history. Orion and Madeleine don't rock the boat, but do support Old Cultural establishments such as libraries, museums, and the like.

The Dunsts are a happy newlywed couple living on Earth. Alyss came from a relatively well-off family, a calm, no-nonsense girl with a dash of spunk. And strangely, she found herself falling in love with a man deemed most radically different from her. Aristotle Dunst was a friend of her father's (though one might say it was Mr Dunst who considered Mr Lowe a friend, while Mr Lowe doesn't exactly appreciate him), some twelve years older than her. Circumstances were rather strange, not to mention initially awkward when Mr Lowe found the twenty-eight year old eccentric Aristotle Dunst nurturing what seemed to be an almost childish crush on his sixteen-year-old youngest daughter. He was even more shocked - nay, outraged - when the man asked for his blessing to marry his daughter. But in time, Alyss' parents agreed to the match (quirky as he is, the Dunst man was in possession of a large inheritance, and they could see that Alyss loves him as much as he loves her), and the two got married. It was only then that Alyss' family received the knowledge that their daughter's husband's first name was actually Morgan - he never told anyone, under the "reason" that Morgan Aristotle Dunst makes his initials M. A. D. (of course, no-one believed that was the reason, since the man appears almost glad that he is slightly mad).

Through this they hope to show others the importance of how to treat both the earth and others. They both want a large family and want to give their children historical names with a meaning behind them as Aleksander was named after Alexander the Great.

She's kind and smart, but her teachers don't want to move her a grade ahead, as her parents--the illustrious Uther and Parras Wiley, the mayor and his wife, a politician--would get quite angry at them for doing so. Eva wants to major in theatre in college. She is a young actress, and quite good. She has wonderful voice and can play many types of characters.

Evadne has twins. They are now eight months old. They are the daughters of Eva's old boyfriend who moved away. She named them Guinevere "Gwen" and Arthur, after the Arthurian characters. The legends of King Arthur are some of her favorite.

Of course, completely! It's up to you whether these are legal "permit" kids or whether they were never legally allowed and never registered, as must inevitably happen...
If you want to include them just add them now or next round :) (and names if you want to do that now or if you want to wait I can add them myself next round to your family and you can pick from the options for names. You know, your choice!)

The Endymions are a newly wed couple who live in North America on Earth. Reed works as a scientist/engineer, a common profession in a world so focused on the stars. Lissie works several jobs: she works in a restaurant near one of the ports where ships depart for other worlds and she teaches nighttime classes on literature to any interested adults. Reed's family has been engineers for four generations, so he couldn't imagine doing anything else, except traveling on some of the ships he designs. Lissie came from a wealthy family, one who had enough money to travel to other worlds, yet, she decided to say behind on Earth when her family moved to another world, so that she could stay with Reed. Staying behind has cost her a lot--she now has to work and is much poorer than when she lived with her family, but now, she can be with her husband.
