[Opinions] Old Roman Names. What do you think of...
Antonia? It's my number one name.
Octavia? May move into my top 5.
What other ancient Roman names do you like? Preferably 4 syllables (My mom's name is 4 syllables and so is mine!)
Thanks!

I love Roman names! Antonia and Octavia are lovely!
Cecilia is one of my all-time favorite names, too.
Some more I like: Prisca (not fond of Priscilla, maybe Prisca is too short for you)
Lucilla
Viviana
Drucilla
Sibylla
Leocadia
Junia
Livia (may be too close to Olivia)
Aurelia, Aureliana
Delphina

I adore Octavia. It's one of my faves. I also like Antonia, but Octavia does more for me.
I really like Augusta, it's another that's been growing on me. Anatolia and Hadriana are pretty as well. I'm not sure how to say Laelia (Lay-el-ee-ah?) and I like Severina but it reminds me too much of Severus, Septima is so attached the the number 7 for me, which is weird because Octavia doesn't automatically make me think of 8 haha
I like most old roman names :) Antonia is really beautiful. So is Octavia.
How about:
Calpurnia
Hersilia
Aquilina
Domitilla
Fabiola
Constantia
Alypia
Eusebia
Minervina
Caecelia
Pulcheria
Placidia
Cornelia
Milonia
Eumachia
Eudoxia
Afinia
Bibiana
Aurelia
Demetrias
Betitia
Hortensia
Lucilia
Matidia
Megullia
Messalina
Aspasia
Rubellia
Sempronia
Theoxena (this one is great, I think it means "God of strangers, foreign god".)
Valeria
and Iaia (not enough syllables, I know, and I'm not even sure sure how to say this - EYE-ah maybe? but she was a female roman painter and ivory engraver, totally awesome. and the name is beautiful).

I LOVE Antonia! I think it's great.
I really like Octavia, too. I used to like it more, but a lot of my favourite names are rather simple now and Octavia has just fallen out of favour. I do think it's pretty, though.
For ancient Roman names (taken from this database), my favourites are:
Agrippina (new addition to my long list)
Alba (my #1 or #2 girl name)
Faustina
Caecilia
Junia
Lucia (my name)
Tullia
Virginia
Laelia
Hortensia
And for boys:
Caius (in my top 5)
Gaius
Julius
Marius (my #2 boy name)

I adore Tullia! I've never heard that before.
I do kind of like Antonia. It's very regal, but not overly feminine. Octavia is neat and makes me think of polished mahogany, but it can feel cold to me sometimes.
Every now and then I get into a Roman name kick. I especially like them in combos for boys. They can make a combo sound so pious and/or academic. (Alright after going through the list I guess most of my favorites aren't ancient Roman, so not much to see here.) I do like these:
Augustus
Cornelius - only 4 syllable one though
Marina
Paulina
Virginia - my second favorite name, we'd use this irl
Okay, while looking to make this list I saw Ahenobarbus. Awesome. Ooh, Januarius and Nonus are cool, too.
