[Opinions] Jaden/Jayden
Replies
I say them both the same way jay-den. I like Jaden on a girl.
I can't really see a differece between Jay-den and Jaid-en, but I pronounce Jayden and Jaden the same.
I don't like Jayden at all. It's too trendy and made up, and there are so many similar names which are also really trendy and made up (Hayden, Brayden, Kaden, Ayden etc.)
I would definitely not use Jaden on a girl because it is so popular on boys. Jade it a nicer, feminine alternative.

There are so many hundreds of beautiful underused names available, why go with one that is so popular that in school your son or daughter will become Jaden F or Jayden K?
I suggest Blue Jay for a girl. Really different, still gets the Jay sound in there. And just plain Jay for a boy.
Sorry...It is curious to me how and why names soar in popularity at given moments in history...as if, culturally, we're all reaching for something not quite tangible that we want to channel into our children, our future. But I do feel bad for the multitudinous Isabellas and Jaydens out there who will somehow have to make peace with being one of so, so many.

I've never heard it said any way but JAY-den, no matter how it was spelled. When I try to say JAYD-en, it sounds exactly the same anyway. It's not the worst name out there, but I really dislike it (sorry). It's totally made up and has no meaning, and the -aden trend bothers me. I think it's even worse on a girl than on a boy.
Even though Jaden/Jayden is not very well-liked on this site, I don't mind it (though I only like it for a boy).
Jaden/Jayden/Jaiden are all pronounced the same way to me: JAY-den. I've never heard the pronunciation vary upon the spelling.
I know someone who named her daughter Jaidyn. It's not my favorite name in the world, but I don't hate it with the burning of 1,000 white-hot suns. It's okay.
