Two more years have passed. The threat of war has been dealt with, for now, but that does not mean that things are going well. A summer of droughts that destroyed harvests followed by a summer of rain that flooded them has created a food shortage in the kingdom, and people in the lower classes are starving. Then someone very close to the ruler dies, leaving them heartbroken and without one of their closes confidants. But shortly after, the queen again gives birth to a healthy baby, named for the ruler's lost loved one. People hoped that a healthy royal child would signal a return to prosperity, and shortly after his/her birth, help was found for the hungry. It will still take work and probably years to recover from such terrible droughts, but the people are no longer starving.

Round Two
The two years after Helena's birth were peaceful and the already steady trade picked up steam as a nearby kingdom began to import raw materials from Bellemar, such as timber and flax. Among this rush of money and culture, Queen Elisabeth announced her second pregnancy to the King. The royal couple is still rather distant personally, but stand dutifully by each other. Kieran hoped that his second child would be a boy to inherit his throne, however, Elisabeth gave birth to a second royal princess, whom they named Eleanor. Kieran is slightly frustrated, but realizes that this is only their second child and they are still fairly young. He is happy that the child is healthy and has begun to enjoy his older daughter now that she has a bit more personality. Elisabeth has again been very attentive to her newborn, involving herself extensively in the care of both girls. She has taken up a sort of apprenticeship with one of the palace dressmakers so that she may make her daughters play clothes. Helena was at first wary of baby Eleanor, but now is always quite excited to see her little sister and touches her gently instead of poking too roughly.

Kieran, however, is worried not about little girls but about one of the neighboring countries. Jealous of Bellemar's flourishing economy while their's stagnates, little bands of Rewian raiders have been caught ransacking warehouses and stealing wares. Kieran is unhappy with this outcome, but does not wish outright war with Rewa. He instead hopes to alleviate the problem by negotiating a trade contract with the Rewian government.

1523. Things have gone nowhere for Urbino. A recent bout of severe drought, followed by sudden overflowings of rain have put the harvests in a twist. Food became scarce, and most of the lower classes were literally starving, some even resorting to become beggars while the upper classes shut the windows of their palazzi and feasted as if nothing had happened. This behaviour distressed many, most notably Lucrezia, the Duchess consort. She was very anxious about the recent happenings and pressured her husband to stop the indulgent parties from proceeding, but Romolo explained to her that it would have been useless, almost impossible.

In the midst of the hardships, more were to come. Claudio da Firenze, an old friend of Romolo's (and Lorenzino, and Piero before them) arrived in Urbino to "check things". As hearty a welcome as can be provided was given, but it was apparent that something was bothering Claudio. Still, he refused to speak of what was bothering him, instead fixating on his old friend and his family, the government of the duchy, and the alchemical matters, which he was also fond of. After almost two months of his visit, Claudio finally revealed to Romolo and Lucrezia the reason for his visit: he was dying of an illness, and wanted to see his friends before he expired. Claudio meant to go to Romagna next; he never managed to accomplish that goal. Claudio died in Urbino, in his final moments giving Romolo a book which was dedicated to their late friend Lorenzino - Il Principe.

The stress of a chaotic duchy and the loss of an old friend sent Romolo into a downward spiral. He locked himself in his bedroom for the first three days, only ever admitting Lucrezia inside and refusing to eat or even to see his children.

So many things have gone wrong the last couple of years. Even though there never was an outright war between Saxenburg-Ausbeck and Zeerburg-Münligen a lot of resources went to prevent a war. This combined with terrible weather that destroyed the harvests left the people with next to nothing. The prosperous agricultural duchy turned into a state of hunger and poverty in matter of months. To make it even worse Gregorius III lost his cousin, the wonderful Beatricina, who always gave him wise advice when he needed it. The Fürst was therefore really happy when his wife gave birth to a little girl. After two boys he had ensured an heir to the throne and this was the first time Fürstin Josephina actually saw a reaction when he saw his newborn child for the first time.
The people did not celebrate the birth of Charlotta-Amalia like the previous births but it was apparent that they hoped that it was a sign of better times. Indeed, shortly after, the Fürst was able to secure a lot of food, how is however "confidential" but the people are no longer starving, the duchy is slowly recovering from the worst droughts it has experienced since independence and the royal children are healthy and happy.
Things are not that good between Gregorius III and Josephina though. She has never felt that he has any feelings for her. She was merely someone he chose so he could have children. The age difference makes it even harder for her to find something in common with her husband. She is convinced he has a mistress (or perhaps more than one) but she is afraid to confront him because she really doesn't want to know. On the other hand she has recently started to fantasise about one of the stable boys. And if the Fürst has a lover, why can't she?

The birth of another healthy baby boy, also signaled a great loss for King Jeremy. For mere days before the baby's birth he recieved word from Canaan that his youngest brother Dominic had been killed in battle. Queen Elena had never seen her husband so depressed before and once the baby was born, decided to name him after his late uncle, Dominic.

Though this pleased Jeremy, there was still the food shortage that had been plaguing the kingdom to think about.

Luckily, not long after Prince Dominic's birth, a once rival kingdom of Canaan, led by a new Ruler, Jeremy's elder brother Damon, delivered goods to help the country heal from the drought and flood and feed the hungry.

Adelia was glad to have another daughter. However the new princess was born shortly after the untimely death of Lucian's sister, Ria. To honor his beloved sister, Lucian named his daughter Ria as well.

The two years of drought and flood have been very hard on the royal family. It certainly didn't help when Siemandy's lifelong friend--Eudaliora--passed away. Amazingly enough, after the passing of Eudaliora and Siemandy's third pregnancy, things started pulling together again. An anonymous benefactor has been helping out, getting the kingdom back in order.

Luckily, the war with their rivals ended about a year before the birth of Maggie. However, the month before Maggie's birth, Valli's little sister, Margareta, was killed in a plane accident coming home from a vacation in the south of France. As Margareta was also known as "Maggie," Valli chose to give her daughter a name that could be shortened into the same nickname.

It's been two years since Crown Prince Theodore was born. It's been two rough years, but for now, everything seems to be under control. The harvestes were destroyed by droughts and then heavy rain. The poor people of Navaria were starving, and nobody knew what to do!

And then, King Nicholas's closest friend, Casper Quentin, passed away. King Nicholas had always seen Casper as the brother he never got and they had always talked each other about everything. The King didn't have anyone else to rely on. But just two months after Casper had passed away, Queen Isadora gave birth to another royal baby, a boy, named after the King's closest friend.

It didn't take long after Casper's birth until the King could help the starving people. It will take time to recover, but the Kingdom of Navaria is fine - for now.

Despite the resolution of the conflict regarding trade, things have not been going well for Antonio. Oroterra relies heavily on grain and wheat as those are it's primary sources of income. When a heavy crop shortage occurred, it devastated the whole nation. The lower classes faced starvation, and many of the upper classes relied on grain and wheat to sustain their ways of life. Despite all of this, Elisabetta discovered she was pregnant once more. It was a fairy easy pregnancy without any complications. However, Antonio's father Niccolo's health was failing. The physicians estimated that he would only live for a few more months. He was elated when Elisabetta gave birth to the couple's first son, but died very shortly after. Antonio decided to name his son after his father. Oroterra took the birth of a healthy boy as a sign of prosperity which helped to boost everyone's morale. Due to the discovery of an edible crop on the mountain tops and increased wheat and grain plantings, Oroterra overcame the crop shortage.

The Dokshainens seemed to have stopped funding the attacks on the Thylosian borders for now but Theo fears it is only because they have been busy trying to keep their own people alive. The past two years have been difficult and Theo has had to make many speeches to sooth the people and stop riots. And in the midst of this his youngest brother was killed. Seven months after Prince Nicholas died Josie gave birth to another healthy baby, who was named mostly after her deceased Uncle.

The people have taken Princess Daniella's safe birth and relatively easy labour as a sign that all will be alright, and shortly after the birth it seemed things were looking up, Theo drafted a treaty with one of his neighbouring countries that said they could be allies as long as the Nopalyions helped out the Thylosians with their lack of food.

Roland is disappointed that he has another baby sister but he actually enjoys have Riny follow him around and look up to him, though he'll never admit it. Riny is a bit jealous of all the attention Dannie is getting but after Josie explained that she got just as much attention when she was that age she calmed down.

Josie took Theo's advice and six months ago told the Countess how she felt. Magda admitted that she felt the same way, though that was never any secret, and the pair have begun spending more time together. They mostly talk and let their children interact but the relationship has slowly been progressing to a more romantic one.

Drought followed by floods that destroyed crops have left Tayel's people going hungry. Rosa, raised to feel their plight as if it was her own, has donated as much of her own stores as possible, convinced noble families to donate, has negotiated with nearby kingdoms not affected by the natural disaster to trade for grain, and has spoken with people and tried to convince them to not give up hope.
