I really like Penny, but not Penelope. I hate the -pee ending and the meaning, plus it's getting rather common.
Do you think Penny could work on its own? It was in the top 100 in the 60s. Or do you like Peninnah? The meaning is much nicer and it's not so common. Would you pronounce it peh-NIN-na or peh-NEE-na?
Also can you think of anything else Penny could be short for?
Do you think most Penelopes will go by Penny? I just don't want to use it if it becomes the next Maddy.
