[Opinions] Kyle
Do you like the name Kyle for a girl? I do...but I'm not sure what other people would think. WDYT?

I'm in the minority here, but I do like Kyle as a girls name! Same with Dylan.
I understand the argument about using male names on girls as sexist, but I love the way they sound on either gender!
jULiA!

I suppose I prefer Kyle for a boy, but it's hard for me not to think of it as "unisex" because I went to high school in a suburb of Buffalo, New York, with two different girls named Kyle. One of them was my age, and another a couple of years younger, the sister of one of my friends. And since I am now 54 years old we aren't talking about a recent trend! :)
No I only like it for a boy. But I think Kyla, which I find quite pretty is a nice option for a girl.

Sorry, but Kyle is NMS for a girl (I prefer it as a boy's name).
I like Kyle for a boy and Kyla or Kylie for a girl. :)

I agree: Kyle for a boy, Kyla or Kylie for a girl
I find this "using boy's names for girls" sexist, since it is never the other way around.

I hate it for a boy. For a girl it could be Kylie, but that sickens me more.

No, I really don't like it for a girl, or female variations of it, or (I'm sorry to be so negative) the name for a boy, but if it must be used, I think only for boys.
No, I don't. While there are boys names that I like on girls (Brett, for one), those all hinge on what I think of when I hear them.
When I hear "female Kyle," I think of that irritating chick from the last season of America's Next Top Model. No thanks.

It is definenty not a girl's name.
Try Kaylie, Cally, Kylee

Not at all. It's fine for a boy, although overly used at the moment. But I dislike gender-bending names intensely.
I think it send the wrong message to little girls: it's a man's world. Girls should glory in being feminine. Equal, and feminine. Vive la difference.

I don't really agree with the whole "giving a girl a boys' name will make her sound stronger and cooler!" train of thought either. However, if I liked a name that was conventionally a boys' name, but I thought it sounded better on a girl, then I would use it for a girl. Not for any gender reason, just personal preference.
I love it for a girl. It'd cause too much confusion where I live though. People don't expect unisex-ism here, as much as they do in the States, and wouldn't make enough allowances.
