This is apperntly a boys name...
I can't stand it.......How could someone name their son that.
It reminds me of "Bambi" ick!

I think if you keep it within its cultural context, it might not be as bad as you're making it out to be. Did you even bother to click on the link and find out its origin?

Nope, ashamed to say I didn't. It wasn't linked in the post, and I didn't do a search on it myself.
However, had I been presented with the name András , NN Bandi ( Hungarian), my reaction would have been different.
As for Bandi without explanation, as a full name for a male in America/ English speaking country - my spontaneous reactions too it & first post stays.

Bandi is an awful name- it made me think of bandit and bandy. The poor person who has this name will probably get teased to death; why can't parents pick out sensible names for their children?

When I first saw it, I thought it was a typo of Brandi. Bandi sounds terrible, especially with the "i" which I consider girly.♥ Canny ♥
