[Games] Partners Congrats- Round 1 (EDITED)
Welcome to round one =)You and your partner have been given a last name. Now it's basically time to talk names. You can use the reply threads, or PMs if you prefer, to give your partner a list and to eliminate names from theirs until you have a combined list and a fair idea of what you want to name your kids starting next round. There wont be any restrictions from me like there are in other congrats, any name and any number of MNs goes, as long as you agree. Be warned that if you go crazy with combos and preferences this round you might find the next couple of rounds boring. Don't forget that I'd rather you didn't designate "husband" and "wife" just because it will get confusing later on. When you've decided on some names, maybe thrown around a few combos and you're happy, post a reply in your thread with the title DONE or FINISHED so I know. Now have fun! EDIT: Some of you have given names to the DH and DW, that's fine, but for any other pairs wondering, you can if you like but it's not necessary.

You're in the same situation as me at the moment. When all the other pairs have finished, we might have to reassess. We may end up as each other's partners.

From your list, I like Finn best out of your boys and Elisabeth from the girls. I prefer Finn as a nickname, however. Full names that would work for me are Finnian and Fionnan / Finnan. Elisabeth is on my personal list as well, so I see no problem there! As for the other names on your list, I like Sam but not any of it's longer forms (Samuel etc) and I don't really like using nicknames as full names. Rowan is nice but I dislike Roan. I'm not crazy for Noah but I don't find it particularly objectionable. Lexie is a nickname to me and I'm not too keen on any of its longer forms. Robin would make a nice middle name for a girl. Not a big Tessa fan. Here's some names I like. I chose the ones I like best that also may fit your style. (Asterisk = love these the most).Adria

I think that it would be a lot of fun to pair traditional/classic names with quirky/unusual names. I also like nicknames, but only when they lend themselves to a name.Do you want to name one partner and have me name the other, or do you want to agree on both partner's names?
Here are some of the names I'm particularly loving right now :)Feminine Quirky Names: Acacia - Clover - Daciana - Delphia - Kerensa - Lilou - Lysandra - Ottilie - RenataFeminine Classic Names: Agatha "Aggie" - Alice - Faye - Helen - Jacqueline - Josephine "Josie" - Margaret - Mona - PhilippaMasculine Quirky Names: Aquila - Basil - Cicero - Efisio - Grigori - Humphrey - Remiel - Thelonius - TulliusMasculine Classic Names: Abraham "Bram" - Amos - Arthur - Daniel "Danny" - Edgar - Nathaniel - Rafael - Roscoe - Stephen

I think that it would be a lot of fun to pair traditional/classic names with quirky/unusual names.Sounds good to me. I don't really care which way we do it. If you want to just name one and I name the other that's fine, but I don't mind trying to agree either :)From your list I like:
Clover, Renata, Alice, Jacqueline, Margaret
Grigori, Remiel, Roscoe, StephenLove:

Not sure if you would have classified some of mine as quirky or classic so I didn't separate them. I'm drawing a blank, usually I would be able to come up with more :)

You know, I'm not sure. The OP says this "Don't forget that I'd rather you didn't designate "husband" and "wife" just because it will get confusing later on. When you've decided on some names, maybe thrown around a few combos and you're happy, post a reply in your thread with the title DONE or FINISHED so I know," but it looks like partners are creating spouses. For our combos, to give us an easy place to begin, it looks like these are the names we both have on our lists in some form. You might want to double check and see if I missed any. FYI: I'm flexible on our spelling differences, and I don't mind Rowan on a boy. Ada

Hi Ashley. I saw your PNL is listed on your profile so I'm going to list the ones I like, sorted by gender and whether I'd prefer them as a FN or MN:FN:
August
Finn - Wdyt of Finnian "Finn"? ♥
Jude
Leo - I like it best as short for Leonas, but it's cool on its own, too
Reuben MN:
Balthazar
Eliott
Ethan
James
Indigo
Monroe
NathanielFN:
Avia - never heard of it before, but it's pretty and wouldn't flow as well as a MN
Bridget
Charlotte
Eleanor - ♥ I like it with or without nn Norah/Nora too
Gwen - Do you like Gwenaelle, Gwendolen, Gwendolyn, Gwenyth, or Gwenith as longer names? ♥
Jane - ♥ ♥ ♥
Katherine ♥
Stella - Only if it's a nn for Estelle/Estella :PMN:
Daphne
Delaney
Faith
Georgia
Juno
Olive
Phoebe
Susannah
ZaraI was wondering, though, do you want to do any sort of silly theme? It could be as simple as using really weird middle names, or tending towards really long names, or a certain etymology of names. If you don't like anything like that, that is fine, but I thought it might narrow our prospects (in a good way, since our taste is pretty similar.) We could also make it so I choose the male first names and female middle names, and you choose the female first names and male middle names [or vice-versa], if you'd like that better than agreeing on the combos together. Here's the link to my PNL: http://www.behindthename.com/pnl/111719. If you'd like to see my top 160 for each gender, I can make that public for you; just ask. :P LMK what you think about all of this. :)P.S. I have a habit of editing my posts a bunch right after posting them because I suddenly think of a better way to say things; figured I'd let you know since you'll be reading mine a lot.

William (MN) I do like Finnian with the nn Finn, that’d be fine with me. I’ve tried using Leo as a nickname for a bunch of different names, but I do prefer it just on its own. I love Gwendolen or Gwenyth, as a full name for Gwen, and I wouldn’t mind Stella as a nn for Estella. I like the idea of you choosing the male first names and female middle names, and I choose the female first names and male middle names, but we really should choose a few options when trying to decide on a name, like you give a few names you’d think would be a good first name for the husband, and I try to find some middle names I like with it, and I’ll give you a couple combos to choose from, and vice-versa. How does that sound?

Sure, that all sounds good.I'd like to start with a "stronger" [for lack of a better word] name for the husband, so Jude, August, Dimitri, Reuben, and Henrik would be my go-to first names.

I'm leaning toward August Balthazar, August James, and Dimitri Monroe. Would you like to choose?Avia Daphne is my top Avia combo from our list. Avia Charlotte or Avia Gwenyth are okay with me. I also love Eleanor Zara and Eleanor Phaedra. I'm struggling a bit with combos for the others; Nessa Susannah, Nessa Delaney [too cutesy?], Cecily Faith, Cecily Jane, Cecily Freya, and Viviana Jane are all I have.

LilithIf I'm right, we will get kids next round, so there's no point in choosing a boy or a girl name yet since we don't know which one we're having. Unless you really want to have everything settled? Or are we supposed to choose a name for the DH and DW? Is there any names on the list that you only want to use as a FN? Or only as a MN? I'm a little hesitant if I want to use Asher or Solomon as first names, but if you really want to I'm okay with it.

So, Other Chapman, how would you like to do this? I tend to prefer making a list of names and then combo-ing when the children are actually assigned. What's your naming style like? I tend to go for classic or romantic names. I also tend to like flower and flower-related names for girls, i.e. Lily/Lilia and Rose/Rosalia. I'm open to pretty much all languages and ethnicities.

We can each make a list. I'm fine with that. My style in names is all over the place. I like modern, classic, Armenian, Russian, Georgian, & some Hebrew & Irish names.
