[Opinions] Mesopotamia
... is my name "sighting" of the day.
Little Mesopotamia was born a few months ago, I just came across her BA when I was doing some totally unrelated research on the internet. And since this is a rather unusual name and I know that some of you are interested in place names, I thought I'd share.

Ok as a place name. Strange and seemingly random on a person.
Sibs
Vigdis and I were discussing this, and we came up with a couple:
Persia (sister)
Babylon (brother)
We went back and forth quite a bit whether or not we could do Constantinople. I didn't think it would work because it was a capital city and not a nation; on the other hand, it is better know than what it was capital of.

What about Assyria? She'd be quite the mischievous little handful... :P
I agree, Assyria would be a better sister ;)
That is very odd. I don't even see how that will work as a name.
Well.. it is a very interesting word and a very interesting name. I bet she's called Mia or Tammy.
Yeah I bet you are right. :)

That's just ridiculous.
Messy for short!
Or you could always go with Po.

Better Messy than Potty!
I'm afraid you just made little Mesopotamia's life a little harder: "Po" is the German word for "tushy"/"buttocks" and the girl was born in Germany.
So, yeah, "lovely" nicknames all around ;-)

Potty is my favorite. :)
LOL! Yes, Potty is another great nickname ;-)
Someone is trying too hard.
ACK!!
Wow. Her parents have guts. I'll admit that it's far more interesting than Dakota or London, but it would be a hard name to pull off. I'd go by Tamia if I were her.

Gosh. Archaeologist parents? Professors of Sumerian or Akkadian? It's not exactly a place-name you come across every day.
It would make a really original full name for Mia.

Agh
Talk about your random place name name. And it's not even a good place name name. It doesn't have a nice name-like sound to it. And what are they going to call him/her? Messy? Potty? Haha.

Well, yeah
Or Mia or Tammy (DH actually came up with that one). But they're not nearly as hilarious.
