[Opinions] Celestine

Hm. I like Celestine. It's a little too frilly for me to use IRL just because of the "tine" part though.
I think Tenney is good as a nn.
I like Marion (but prefer Marian if it's a girl), Joanie (as a nn for Joan), and maybe John. I like Jan is it's YAHN on a boy, but I'm not big on it if it's JANN on a girl.

I love Celestine. It sparkles. :-)
If you don't care for Sally you might like its formal name better, Sara(h). Another traditional nn for Sarah is Sadie. So you could name a future dd Sarah using teh nn Sadie and still honor grandma. Just a thought.
Kathy -- Nice, but only as a nn for Katharine, Kathleen, etc.
Tenney -- I never knew Denis had any nn other than Denny. I'm not big on Tenney but I'll keep it in mind and it may grow on me.
John -- Love it. It may have been overly used in the past but I see / hear it so seldomly on these boards. It's a still-waters-run-deep kind of name. Soft yet strong at the same time.
Sue -- Nice, but only as a nn for Susan, Susannah, Ursula, etc.
Meyer -- Too surnamey for me, unless it's from the child's own family tree.
Tom -- My father's name / nn. Thomas. I'm biased but it really is a handsome classic.
Bill -- Nice, but only as a nn for William, etc.
Gary -- Despite Mr. Cooper, I just can't warm up to this one.
Marion -- Gorgeous. It's feminine without being frilly.
Joanie -- Yay! Joan was my favorite aunt and I called her Joanie. You warm my heart.
Jan -- There are better nn for Jane
