Very nice. I used to not like Summer as a name, but I've come around to it now. It has such a soft sound and, forgive the pun, a sunny disposition. In fact, I can see using Sunny as a nn for Summer. My stock combination for her is Summer Elena.

I like it. It's warm and friendly. I actually like all season names, even the generally disliked Spring and Season. The one I'd be most likely to use would be Autumn.

I think it seems tacky for some reason. I can't say why because other wordy/naturey names are fine to me. Just the way that one strikes me, I guess. Also maybe because I don't really like the season of summer, so summery images in a name aren't a plus to me.

It's happy and upbeat, I like it a lot.

I like it, but I like Autumn a lot better and I think I also prefer Winter. Summer for some reason doesn't really have the down to earth/natural feel that Autumn and Winter have. It has a more popular/girly/cheerleader feel like Brittany and Tiffany, just not as dated. Probably Summer from The O.C. is to blame.

I used to love Summer, because I - well, love summer, but that ditzy bleached-blonde cheerleader vibe turns me off to it. Too bad, because otherwise it'd be all beaches and sunshine, walks on the shore and seashells.Autumn is nice. I graduated from high school with an Autumn who was popular, but very pleasant.

It's ok. Has a positive image for me because of a friend named Summer. The character on "Make It Or Break It" is a pleasant enough character that she doesn't ruin the name.

Summer is the only season name I like. It's got a positive, modest vibe that isn't irreverent. I've met a Summer, and that influenced me in favor of the name.(I think Winter is artificially downbeat and "mysterious" so it annoys me, and I think Autumn should be pretty, but isn't, it seems glum because of the sound in my accent "Odd'm")

QueryI'm no fan of seasonal names, and luckily for me they don't seem to happen where I live; but it's just occurred to me that although Summer, Autumn (though not Fall, luckily!) and Winter all seem to get used, I haven't heard of a Spring. There's always April or May in the northern hemisphere, of course, though they're autumn names where I live. So, are there little Springs running around anywhere:)?

I named a Barbie doll Spring when I was little. I also had a Summer, a June, a May, and an Augusta.I never understood the appeal of Winter as a name. Winter is harsh, and cold, and nasty. Shoveling! Black ice! Frostbite!

Oh but Winter can also be beautiful! I love the snow! I have a holly tree in my front yard that's absolutely gorgeous when draped with white snow. Ice cycles are pretty too. Winter also harkens Christmas, snowmen, sledding and cozy fires

Well, that is true... those are all fun, happy things. I don't hate everything about winter. I have lots of memories of playing in the snow with my younger sister that make me smile. I just hate driving in it. The first time I did that, I got stuck and my dad had to come and dig me out. I've also had my car get iced to the ground, literally. That was when my husband (then boyfriend) was still at university, and the whole campus was a giant sheet of ice. I was stuck there for a few days. :)

I know a Spring. It had a small burst of semi-popularity in the mid-seventies, reaching the 600s in 1976. There was also actress Spring Byington, who died in the early 70s. I know her best as Marmee in the 1930s version of Little Women, but she had many, many roles. I know Summers, Autumns, and one Season, but I've never met a RL Winter.

Actually, I don't know any Summer, Autumns, or Winters, but I do know a girl whose middle name is Spring.

I've met a Spring before. She worked at the post office and is likely in her 50s by now.
I think the fact that "spring" is also a word deters people from it - the same reason you don't see "fall"I love Aviva and Rabia for their meanings, which are "spring" and "springtime"

Yes I think the word "spring" probably puts people off. Spring the season wouldn't be my first assocation: I'd think of a spring and/or spring rolls.

I agree that's probably why spring isn't used as a name the way other seasonal names are. But I love it as a name, I think it's so bright and fresh. I would be very excited to meet one in real life!

I play soccer with a girl named Spring. She's the only Spring I've ever met or heard of though.

Probably my least favourite of the seasonal names... I think it sounds more frivolous. Winter and Autumn at least have some mystery to them.

I really think that Summer, Autumn and Winter should remain seasonal names ONLY. Not be used as names for human beings. They just seem tacky.
