[Opinions] Emerald
Loving this name at the moment.Any combo suggestions? I would quite like to have a nature theme, something really quite quirky & different...one or two syllables i think may work best..ideas anyone?

I love Emerald for a girl ever since I saw on another board that a dd was named Emerald Erin. Usually I don't go in for repeated vowels or theme-y type names. But this one struck me as so sweet. Emerald Anne is not the most imaginative combo. But it's so balanced, like an emerald cut gem. Jean Emerald is my other stock combo. I don't know why -- it just strikes the right chord in my heart.

I love Emerald, too! I really like it as a middle name most, and I would use it as a middle name but the name I'm trying to find a middle for is Emma, and they're too similar.Emerald Alexandra
Emerald True
Emerald Gracie (I know its technically a nn, but it just sounds good)
Emerald Theodora
Emerald Gwendolyn
Emerald Gweneth:)

I'm not big on gem names in general; they always sound somewhat corny to me. Emerald isn't an exception, though it's far less tacky than Sapphire or Diamond. It think it would fare better as a middle name.I do like Everild, however, which sounds somewhat similar.

ooo I've never heard of Everild - do you pronounce how it is written? It's very unique, haven't heard of it before, quite beautiful

I don't much like it for a girl, which is how it's usually used and probably what you're intending, but I love it for a boy. I never even considered it for a boy until I saw an obituary once of a man named Emerald, born in 1919. And I was like... dude, that is amazing. It sounds perfectly masculine. There's Emery, Emmerich, Emerson, etc. So as a male name, I think it's strong but has a gentleness to it, and it has a nostalgic, farmer-y feel to it. My favorite combo is Emerald Bartholomew. I never really tried making any more because that one is perfect. But since I guess you want female combos, I do have a few of those too: Emerald Calla, Emerald Evangeline, and Emerald Siobhan.

Yes I agree but I do also love it for a girl though! and that was what I was meaning..thank you for your suggestions but I'm thinking of a more nature inspired name...like Emerald Lily or something? but something more unusual..What do you think?

I think a nature name with Emerald could be overkill, since Emerald already is a nature name. But did you like Emerald Calla? Calla is a lily. :)
