[Opinions] Helen or Hellen
Helen, female version as in Helen of Troy is sometimes misspelled with two ls. Hellen, male version originates from the son of Deucalion and Pyrrha from Greek mythology.

Definitely Helen. Hellen has the word "hell" in it and, even though Helen has the same sound, for some reason the double L makes it worse.
Also Helen is by far the more common spelling and I think spelling it with 2 Ls is just going to cause confusion.
Also I would never name a boy Hellen, because Helen is so common on girls.

Yeah... W/ the Hell thing, 1 l is better than 2 and while I dislike the name and wouldn't use it anyway, it's even worse on a boy... esp. since regardless of spelling, most people associate the name w/ girls... I've met girl Hellens, but never a boy Hellen.
Helen
Helen is much nicer looking. Hellen has "hell" in it, which would make it easy to tease.
Helen
Helen.
Never seen it with two l's.

As you said, Hellen is a misspelling as far as the feminine name goes. And it really looks like one.

Helen, definitely. Hellen has the word hell in it and is just unattractive in general.
