Help[Opinions] Harley
I don't really like it yet but it has grown on me. My boyfriend loves motocycles and owns a harley and it's his dream name for our future daughter :P I always told him there's no way it will happen but it has grown on me a little so I'd like to know what you think.
Probably won't be used as I love Hadley and it would be weird to have a Hadley and a Harley. Unless maybe as a middle name.
What do you think? Too trendy? Popular? Do you know any? Boy or girl?
Oh and Hadley or Harley? He has pretty much agreed on Hadley :P Not that we'll have kids anytime soon. He likes most of my favorites so I'm lucky :)

Not a love, but it's likable enough and WAY better than Hadley... Hadley is way too surnamey and trendy. Why would anyone put Harley on a girl? It's all boy to normal people who aren't trying to be trendy by crossing more boys' names onto girls. No idea why it's listed as fem. on BtN except that some parents have decided to go w/ the crossover. Not excessively popular... pretty down to earth and sensible and doesn't have the preppy air about it that Hadley does (Harley sounds solid, independent and hard-working and Hadley sounds like a spoiled little rich kid w/ hovering preppy parents... sorry, but those are the images these names give me)... and nice to see it kept on boys where it belongs. I've only ever met male Harleys, I think.

Uhm it's a place name. Yes it was used on boys first but it was never masculine to begin with. A place or a surname can never be masculine or feminine to me. I mean women have surnames too.

Thing is that as a fn, most surnames sound kinda dorky and they usually sound even worse on girls imo.

It would definitely be weird to have Hadley and Harley together! They're far too similar. I suppose it could be OK if one is a middle name.
I don't like either Hadley or Harley. They're too trendy for me, and sound too unisex. I think they both sound more like boys names, but that's because I always tend to side with the boys when it comes to unisex names.
I'd much rather see a male Harvey or Harry than a female Harley.

For a girl? I thought it was for a boy until you mentioned it was for a future daughter. I don't like Harley for a girl at all. I think it's a nice name for a boy though. There's nothing feminine about Harely but it's pretty cool for a boy. Hadley is a bit better but I still don't consider it feminine.

No I don't but I actually saw the name Harley Davidson (Davidson was the last name) in a BA once.

I don't really like Harley or Hadley. Neither sound feminine at all to me. Harley sounds masculine if anything and Hadley just sounds clunky and unattractive to me. I don't see the appeal. I do like Harley more though. I know one Harley that is a boy and a dog named Harley too. It's a boy dog. Probably why I see it as masculine.
