This is a typical NTNB, except that the year is now 2140 and the trends are slightly different. Below is an UPDATED example of 2140 trends in baby names to help out with each family.

In general, parents are finally fed up with the unique-word-name trend. However, there are some word-names that have become so commonplace as to seem usual/typical/normal/okay. Names that were popular in the early 1900s became the standard set for the grandparents of this latest generation. Names that were popular in the 1990's/2000's/2010's are the current favorites and one of the most popular trends. Other current trends include bird/animal/plant names as first names, unusual surnames names, and global names (that is, names from around the globe). Finally, the most obnoxious trend (to many name-lovers at least) is taking names and spelling them in reverse to create a "new" name.

Percival and Clementina have gotten married and are now expecting their first child, a son. They would like a longer, uncommon (but not completely unheard of) name for his FN. Percival would really love to continue his family's tradition of using magic/medieval-related names as a MN, but Clementina would love to find a name that is more plant related... can they compromise?

Dennis and Ximena aren't sure that they want to get married, but they are having a daughter together. Ximena has always loved that her name has an unusual letter ("X") in it, and wants the same for her daughter. And so, she is pretty much open to any FN so long as it contains the letter "q" somewhere within the name. Dennis would kind of like to find a "global" name for their DD's FN. Both Dennis and Ximena have decided that their DD's MN should either honor Dixon (meaning "Dick's son") or be an unusual flower and/or color (to honor Lavender).

Russell and Melinda are married and having a son! They would like his FN to have 7 letters and to contain an "l" at some point. His MN should be filler (remember, there are a whole new generation of "filler" MNs, so it's okay to think outside of the box a little here!).

Oh no, Alita and her boyfriend ended up pregnant... with twins! They have chosen the ABSOLUTE WORST names for their twins!! There is definitely matching or a theme going on there. Also, since they aren't married, they've decided to split the surnames between the two kids with the boy getting his father's surname and the girl getting her mother's surname. The WORST names get this ;-P
