[Opinions] Re: Ainsley

I hate Ainsley because it's so nasal. To me, it always sounds like it's being whined rather than spoken, and I can't imagine repeating it 50+ times a day (as you do with a young child). Aynsley takes a name that sounds ugly and makes it ugly visually. I much prefer Ansley, but I wouldn't say really I like it. I know more little girls named Ainsley than any other single name, including Isabella and Sophia/Sofia. I feel like I'm up to my armpits in Ainsleys, and all of them are under age 7 or so, including the last two baby girls born into my congregation at church. I know 7 or 8 in multiple spellings; Ainsleigh is a popular local spelling. I don't know any Ansleys. An Ansley would probably be mistaken for Ainsley, now that I think about it. My sister-in-law wanted an Ainsley when she was pregnant, and I was so sad. Thankfully, my brother doesn't like names that sound like surnames, and my niece became Phoebe instead.
