[Opinions] Elmer or Homer
I know they aren't the most appealing names, but it's for a short story, set in the 1960's. Thanks a lot for your help!

Both are very connected with cartoon characters, lol. I like the sound of Homer a tiny bit more, but Elmer is something I can imagine on someone from the '60s, perhaps. A hard-working farmer, maybe.

With no other information, I'd go with Elmer, simply because for many people Homer will be so identified with the character on The Simpsons that they will find him hard to get out of their mind when they see the name Homer.

Homer. I've never been a big fan of Elmer.
