Hal just makes me think of 2001: A Space Odyssey.
It's definitely short, and as a name I think it's a little too dated.
Halldor "Hal" would be kind of cool though... or Halvar.

hehe, I didn't even think of that, but it kind of makes me love it more LOL. DH may not hold my views though. I will have to see what he thinks. Thank you!
