I now have "Carry On Wayward Son" in my head, so Kansas feels more masculine than feminine to me, but I guess it could work for either. I don't really like it, but if there are kids named Alabama, Tennessee, and Texas out there, there can be kids named Kansas too. I think it would occasionally be mistaken for Candace, particularly on the phone, but that's not a big deal, imo. A bigger problem, for me, is the "we're not in Kansas anymore" jokes. I imagine teenaged boys and ex-boyfriends of all ages could have some meanspirited "fun" with that one, and it would get old fast.

Tennessee WilliamsI thought Kansas would be more masculine because of names like Tennessee being masculine... But I guess that it all depends on your frame of reference.I say: sure, may as well use it as many other states are names now too.
