[Opinions] Marybeth
Just met someone called Marybeth - and yes, it was all one word. No hyphen. Personally, I think it sounds a bit weird. What do you guys think of it?

I worked with a Marybeth one of my classmates had a younger sister named that. I don't think it is that weird.

It's funny...too read everyone's "image" for the name. I'd likely have a very similar idea (goody two-shoes who's TOO sweet and is an overly welcoming "bumpkin" type) if the Marybeth I'm close to wasn't COMPLETELY different from that, lol, she's actually sort of "hard" and "city" I think. Picture Daryl Hannah (with bangs and frosty blond hair) in a sexy, modern, men's-wear inspired look with a bright red lip.

I cold TOTTALY see that. I was actually thinking "it would be so cool to meet a Deathrocker Marybeth or something totally not Marybethish". I kind of love names with severe images like that - because the idea of the person being the total opposite of that image is such a delicious one.

This is simple and easy to understand and conveys that both names are to be used, so I think it's quite alright.

I love it. It's so sugarfrosted OTT.

Marybeth is a relatively common name in the part of the US that I am from. I can't stand the name though because to me it is very country bumpkin or as we say here "hick from the sticks."

It has this super-squeaky-clean image to me. So girl-next-door as to be obnoxious. Like the kid that always gets perfect grades, never gets into trouble, and all the adults think she's the best thing since sliced bread but none of the kids really like her because she isn't really one of them, she's the teacher's pet and the Good Example.

This is my very best friends name so I guess I'm pretty biased but I like it and don't find it to be weird at all :) Actually her name is Mary Elizabeth but she insists on using Marybeth, no space or hyphen.

I thought of Happy Days. That was the name of Richie's college sweetheart and later wife. She's the image I think of, bubbly, 50's, nice girl.
