[Opinions] WDYTO Deniel?
I love Daniel and I love the nn Denny. Deniel seems to be a good compromise, but I can't quite seem to love it. Opinions?

I read it as Denel, which is the local armaments company! In the wider world, people will just assume it "should be" Daniel and act accordingly. If not Deniel, what about Denis, or Dennison?

At first I thought it was a typo. I think it would be mistaken for Daniel all the time.

I think it's too close to "denial" to be usable and too similar to Daniel to be worth the trouble. There's no reason why Denny couldn't be a nickname for Daniel, at least not in my book.

it looks like a mistakeLike a misspelling of Daniel. It sounds like a weird accent trying to say Daniel when you say Deniel out loud.

I have a cousin by marriage named Denelle. I prefer Daniel (also a family name, mn and ln), but it is a good compromise.

I want too much to read it like Daniel

dittoor it reminds me of Denielle (prn den-eel) which is uber girly.

It looks like someone spelt Daniel wrong... However, according to this site, it is a legit name... just a different form of Daniel.

I had to read it 3 times before I realized that it wasn't Daniel or Denial. He will spend his entire life correcting people when they call him Daniel. I personally like Dennis with Denny as a NN.

I LOVE Daniel. I'd love to use it. My problem is, I know so many in my circle of friends & family. :(

Sorry, I thought you wrote Daniel. Deniel is nms, sorry. It looks made up (I think it may be a legit name though?), and I think people would definitely confuse it with Daniel, which you aren't really into. :(

It would get confused with Daniel, too much. I think Denny by itself is okay. What about Denzel or Denzil?

I do love Denzil and it's under consideration. I just know if I ever decide to use it, I'll have an argument with my dad on my hands.

Don't worry about your dad, it's your child, so it's your choice. What about Denver, Denham, Dennis, Denzell, Denton, Denley?

Denver's pleasant... and I agree that it's not really up to your dad anyway.

I like it, but I think that people would mistake it for Daniel on a frequent basis.
