Major is totally lame. But I like Juneau! Ever since I saw The Legend of Bagger Vance, where the dude's last name is Junuh, but it sounds like people saying Juneau with a Southern accent so that's where I got the idea. I'm not a huge place-name liker, but I do like that one a lot.

Before I read your post and just saw the subject line I thought it was a girl and I was thinking I really like Juneau for a boy and then it turns out it really is a boy named Juneau. I like! Major is bad. I dislike title names for boys (and girls). I'm adding Juneau to my GP list.

Ouch! I just think of "Juneau what I've named my son?" And Major is straight out of Catch-22 - the boy with the ln Major gets given the fn Major by his father, who goes home and tells his wife "I named the boy Caleb in accordance with your wishes", so his son acquires an identity crisis on his first day at school, and when he joins the army he is a brilliant soldier and is rapidly promoted to the rank of Major but, unfairly, never rises higher because the top brass can't face the prospect of losing the only Major Major Major in the US Armed Forces ...

Juneau is kind of cool. I think I'd like it on a girl too, or Juneaux or something (is that a name?)Major belongs on a dog, not a human...

Juneau!I seriously LOVE Juneau for a boy. It's been a looong time favorite of mine.... I was originally inclined to spell it Juno but that was back before I knew about the goddess.Major I dislike. It's definitly "trying to hard to be macho," like Butch
