[Opinions] Isidora vs Isadora
Which do you prefer and why? :)

Isidora
I much prefer Isidora. Isadora reminds me too much of "is a door."

Isadora
Isidora - anything to get far away from Isabella
Plus, as guru mentioned, Sid would make a great nickname. Much much better than Sad. :)

Isadora just compounds the "Is a door a what?" problem I have with the name.

Isadora
It's easier to say, and the a sounds better there than having two short i sounds in a row.

Isadora
I think it looks prettier, more "clean" and sophisticated. I also prn them slightly different. Love, love, love Isadora.

Isidora
I feel strongly
Isidora makes sense
Is correct
Is brighter sounding and looking ("izzid" vs "izzudd")
Isadora appears to refer to Isadora Duncan
is a "trendy" spelling *just* like Makayla is for Mikayla, neutralizing a vowel and blurring the sound
Is wrong. disregards itself. Gift of Isas?
has "I SAD" in it.

I pretty much agree. Unfortunately Isadora is kinda growing on me
Growing on you? I sad.
Whatever ... people like what they get used to, I guess. Madlen is a GP of mine, and not as a foreign variant of Madeleine, but just as a contraction. If I didn't like it, though, I could probably give it just as much guff as I do Isadora. =\
The other thing is, Isadora makes me think "wanted to use Isabella but it wasn't differynt enough"

The way you've phrased things here looks like you consider Makayla a trendy spelling, but Mikayla not so. Really, both are modern misspelled monstrosities.
Yes, I agree. But at least Mikayla is phonetically a lot truer to the original Michaela, and doesn't neutralize the "ih" sound into a schwa. Makayla = Muh-kayla (or as I like to say "Muckayla") not Mih-kayla
I prefer Isidor for a boy and Isadora for a girl. Couldn't tell you why though.
I prefer Isadora because it looks smoother to me, but I like Isidora as well.
Wow--some people think Isadora looks clunky while Isidora looks smooth. Crazy how people perceive different things. Thanks for the input :)
I much prefer Isidora. It's the original spelling, and I think it just looks better. More refined.
My name is a variant of an anglicized version of a traditional Irish name so I can appreciate a name in its originality.
Aww you're right. Now that you've mentioned it that's all I can see!
I believe I'm in the minority here, but I prefer Isadora because it matches the way I say the name. I realize the source is Isidore, and I can pronounce Isidora with a short "i" sound...I just don't enjoy it as much that way.
Isadora does look more phonetic so I can understand your preference for that spelling. :)
I can see that connection--the Isabella/Isadora. I think that's why it takes my eyes a moment to adjust to seeing Isidora instead.
